Friends of Oakley Creek is supporting a
new initiative on Oakley Creek -

Help Mt Albert St Judes Scouts restore
a section of Oakley Creek

Discover a new part of Oakley Creek Te Auaunga, and
be part of restoring it to its original, beautiful state.

Support our local Scout Group to clear weeds from the creek
bank in preparation for planting native species in the Autumn.

When - Sunday 30th November - 10.00am-2.00pm

Where - 1213A New North Road, Mt Albert (above Pak'n'Save)

Families welcome - lunch provided.

Monitoring & Pest Control

Friends of Oakley Creek have recently established a monitoring and pest control
plan for Oakley Creek. This includes the monitoring of weta and lizards;
and pests - rats, possums, rabbits etc. - and subsequent pest control.

We are needing on-going assistance with this programme.

When: Sunday 7th December, 2008 10.00am-12 noon

Where: Oakley Creek Walkway

West/Waterview side of creek - Waterview Glades
- downstream from Unitec Residence Bridge

Access from Unitec Residence Entrance, Gt North Road
or Unitec Campus new Student's Residence

What to bring: Sturdy footwear, long sleeves, gloves, sunhat,
hedge clippers and/or a spade.

Refreshment provided.

Join us to celebrate another year of restoration work on

When: Sunday 14th December, 2008 12 noon - 3.00pm

Where: Harbutt Reserve - end of Harbutt Street

What to bring - foods and drink to share, something to
sit on (rug, folding chair, cushion).

Children very welcome - playground 'on-site'.
